Main Street Clinic Loughrea are pleased to announce that the clinic is participating in the new scheme for free contraception for 17-26 year olds. The free contraception scheme for women aged 17-25 was launched on 14th September, 2022, and expanded to include 26 year-olds on January 1st, 2023. From 1st. September, 2023 the scheme is open to women aged 17-30 who are ordinarily resident in Ireland. From 1st. July 2024 the scheme has expanded to 35 years.
This means that consultations for contraception and prescriptions from your pharmacy are free with or without a Medical Card. You need a valid PPS number to access this free service.
