Main Street Clinic Loughrea are pleased to announce that the clinic is participating in the new scheme for free contraception for 17-26 year olds. The free contraception scheme for women aged 17-25 was launched on 14th September, 2022, and expanded to include 26 year-olds on January 1st, 2023. From 1st. September, 2023 the scheme is open to women aged 17-30 who are ordinarily resident in Ireland.
This means that consultations for contraception and prescriptions from your pharmacy are free with or without a Medical Card. You need a valid PPS number to access this free service.
